directmedia opens a new dimension in 5250 application
The iSeries cannot process multimedia data as information from these applications are limited to green screen terminals. directmedia integrates photos, graphics, scans (for example, scanned letters in the customer application), audio and video in iSeries applications. Media increases the content of information making the work easier and quicker. directmedia, for example, displays pictures, technical schematics and drawings from a click of the mouse on a PC.

Simple Integration
It is not required to change an existing application to integrate directmedia. The tool uses in-screen content (article number, customer number, contact information, etc.) via defined key combinations to display the media files.

Separate viewer
directmedia has a separate viewer for documents and graphics that is controlled from the iSeries. Window size and position, display of menu, status and toolbars, page position and zoom level can be included as parameters. Documents can be printed, faxed or sent by Email. For document recall you can open any number of windows or close them.

Store wherever you want
Displayed documents can be stored in either, the iSeries, PC network or local storage. The iSeries retrieves media files out of the application, i.e. out of the terminal emulator.

Archival access
directmedia can be used as an archival system: detailed letters, queries, orders, faxes that were scanned earlier can be displayed at any time.
